FAQ

What are the major differences between Softphone and Groundwire?
Unlike Acrobits Softphone, Groundwire includes conferencing and transferring features.
Do you provide support for Groundwire & Acrobits Softphone apps?
Sure we do. For support, please open a ticket at our Helpdesk. You will usually receive a response within 24 hours.
What are push notifications, and how do they work?
Push notifications are messages sent to your device that are used to wake Acrobits Softphone up when you receive an alert. They are a system and battery-friendly option that keeps you in the loop. Acrobits Softphone uses its push notifications server (which runs in the background) to notify you of incoming calls, messages, and other events without draining your battery. Without them, the app would use your phone’s processing power and drain your battery to stay in constant contact with the network. Push notifications are a battery-friendly solution to real-time notifications because they aren’t resource-heavy.

Yes, and it works on both Android and iOS with slight differences.

Does Softphone support Apple’s CallKit?
Yes, and like other Apple or Android enhancements, our team strives to deliver these improvements on their initial release day.
How does Acrobits Softphone handle network changes?
Our SIP stack uses a sophisticated mechanism to handle network changes. We’ve developed a system that minimizes the impact of changes to avoid call drop offs during handovers. For example, say you’re on a call using your cellular data and you walk into a WiFi hotspot. Normally, your phone will connect to the hotspot automatically and your call may drop off during the handover. Our platform doesn’t do this. It sticks to the original cellular data network, providing you with a seamless audio experience, and only hands the connection over when your call is finished. And should the active network disappear for any reason, the app will instantaneously issue a re-invite.
